11 most incredible beaches to discover this year

The summer heat in Europe is a good excuse to escape to the beach. After the most secluded beaches we shared with you in a previous other post, here’s the best beach destinations you must go to, in no particular order.

  1. Australia, Tasmania

freycinet national park

Tasmania was our first travel experience… and is still one of our best trips.
The Freycinet National Park is an incredibly beautiful natural reserve. The peninsula hides many wonders: wild flowers, red rock cliffs, great walks, and beautiful white sandy beaches.

  1. Australia, Fraser Island

Fraser Island

Fraser Island

Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world. Get a 4WD, drive on the beach and discover the many lakes. Dingos are common on Fraser. Be careful though, the water is full of sharks.

  1. Australia, Cape Range National Park

Turquoise bay, cape range WA

Many Aussie beaches are wonderful and are listed as the most beautiful beaches in the world. So I have to share with you one more: Turquoise Bay, located on the west coast.
Grab your snorkel gear to admire the underwater world. If you want to see more, you can organise a tour to swim with the mighty whale sharks not far from there.

  1. Bali, Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan, south east of Bali, is ideal for those who love nice walks, clear water and like living close to locals. You can rent a bike and visit fishing villages and see locals cultivating seaweed.

  1. Cook Island, Aitutaki

aitutaki, honeymoon island

Honeymoon Island is truly a paradise. The lagoon is partly turquoise, sky blue and see-through. The long sandbank makes this place even more incredible.

  1. Fiji, the Yasawas islands

Yasawas, fiji

Fiji, yasawas

Ah the Yasawa islands… volcanic islands with luxurious forests bordered by white sandy beaches, with cristal clear water… What more should I say?

  1. Greece, Gramvoussa in Crete

Gramvoussa island and the Balos lagoon can’t be missed if you go to Crete. It’s a very special place, with beautiful pink sand. Better go early and with your own transport to avoid getting there at the same time as the boats full of tourists.

  1. Hawai, O’ahu

Honolulu

Honolulu

Waikiki is Honolulu’s most famous beach, but isn’t necessarily the most beautiful one. But that’s not a problem! With over 125 beaches, there’s plenty of choice around O’ahu. Each one has its own particularity: like turtles watching, diving … but they all have something in common: they’re perfect to relax.

  1. Lombok, the Gili islands

Gili Trawangan

The Gili islands are famous and very touristy but are still a must see. There’s 3 islands: Meno, Air and Trawangan which are easily accessible from Bali. Choose where to stay based on the atmosphere you prefer: a quiet place, to be close to the locals, or to be in the middle of nature… or you can try them all. But I warn you: it will be hard for you to leave.

  1. Panama, Bocas Del Toro

Bocas del Toro, Panama

The archipelago of Bocas Del Toro, north east of Panama, attracts travellers from all around the world. Located on the Caribbean coast, with a sea great for surfing, idyllic beaches and amazing wildlife make it a great spot for a stopover.

  1. Philippines, El Nido

El nido

Filipinos are amongst the nicest people we ever met… and on top of that, the beaches in Philippines will leave you speechless. North of Palawan, El Nido is a village located between the beach and beautiful limestone cliffs. Visit the area by boat during the day and sing Karaoke at night.
